Painting is one of the cornerstones (along with wine!) of the experience you’ll enjoy with us. But why paint? How can we use the act of painting as a form of meditation?

Taking your artwork home will undoubtedly be a great satisfaction. Painting will give you a new, special piece of decor and the rewarding feeling of having spent your time well, creating something new with your own hands. But that’s just the resul, we want you to fall in love with the process.

The reason we believe in the importance of painting is that, for us, painting is an act of meditation.
During the workshop, you’ll dedicate your attention and energy, for a few hours, solely to the canvas in front of you. You’ll think of nothing else but progressing with your artwork, following the teacher’s guidance and your own inspiration. This will lead you into a state of focus that will help you feel present in the here and now.

Anchoring the mind to the present moment, fully experiencing it, is the fundamental principle of meditation. This ancient Eastern practice aims at spiritual elevation and enhancing psychophysical well-being, and it is still used by thousands of people around the world to achieve the relaxation that the busyness of daily life often makes difficult.

However, to enter a meditative state, you don’t necessarily have to close your eyes and sit cross-legged in a lotus position. Focus on the movement of the brush over the canvas, the white spaces and the shades you wish to fill them with, the pigment mixtures you can create with the help of water, and the sounds around you.

By the end of the session, you’ll realize you’ve spent two hours with every other concern left outside the studio, feeling deeply reconnected with yourself and at peace with the world. Give it a try and see for yourself!
